The disruption of SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown presents challenges to Mississippians beyond putting food on the table.
In response, Converge, a Jackson-based nonprofit that ensures access to reproductive health, will offer free diapers, baby formula and wellness items to families in need.
Where: Jackson Medical Mall
When: Monday, November 3 , noon-6pm (while supplies last, limit one can of formula per person)
Pre-registration is encouraged.
“Our communities are the heart of everything we do, and right now, too many people across Mississippi are being forced into an impossible choice between paying their bills and putting food on the table as SNAP and WIC benefits remain out of reach,” said Danielle Lampton, Converge’s cofounder and co-executive director. “If we can help bring some relief during this uncertain time, we’ll always step up to do so.”
