Years ago, I participated in a similar “Great Books” prison program in the Delta. It was a revelation for me every month. Might there be a way to support your Wilkinson County group with book donations going forward? Thank you for what you’re doing.
I agree, and thank you for offering to help. We don't yet know precisely how this will affect the book club program, but if necessary I'll continue doing it with alternate funding and book donations would likely be a part of that. I hope funding for the humanities councils can be restored, but that will only happen if there's a major public outcry and Congress steps in, or through litigation.
