The MFP article, by Nick Judin, offers new details about how the Starkville, Mississippi welder got caught in the Trump administration’s wide immigrant net. The article does, however, contain a significant error: It says the story was first reported by Emily Wagster Pettus at Mississippi Today, when in fact The Mississippi Independent broke the story several days earlier — a detail that was likewise left out of the Mississippi Today article. (Note: The Mississippi Free Press has since amended their article to correct the record.)
